  1. Pombo

Olá anyone else having issues with pull requests in codeberg?

  2. krig

Hi, they just migrated from Caddy to HAProxy on the frontend so there have been some connectivity issues.. hopefully back to normal by tomorrow

  3. harper

    Ahh

  4. krig

or everything breaks even more now 😅

  5. harper

It already seems better to me

  6. krig

    yeah same here

  7. harper

I wonder what issue they were having with Caddy, I've always liked that project

  8. harper

Though now I'm wondering if it's been slopifified

  9. harper

Yeah it's got an AGENTS.md file

  10. harper

    That's fun

  11. krig

yeah not sure.. HAproxy can do more stuff but is a pain to configure. Ooh :(

  12. harper

Not immediately seeing any agent-coauthored commits, at least. Maybe it's at least something they're using really sparingly

  13. harper

If I didn't have ethical concerns, I could see wanting to be able to use agents to help in the debugging prices

seems unlikely that they would have managed to slopify things to the point of causing problems for codeberg so quickly, probably they wanted more load balancing features. HAproxy can load balance over multiple machines and lock user sessions to one server, stuff like that. Don’t think Caddy can do that

  16. harper

Yeah, it's more that it made me ask the question

  17. harper

Makes sense they'd want to be able to do actual load balancing

  18. krig

apple apparently already has a non-openai model built in, it’s just garbage. But at some point I expect the tech to be commodity and all those AI companies won’t be able to sell just the chatbot anymore. That’s my prediction at least. But who knows.. I just know I don’t want to use or support what it is now

  19. krig

but I am also worried about my sanity, haha. Too many people seem to be going crazy. It’s like we just discovered cocaine and now people are putting it in their breakfast cereal

  20. harper

Huh. I'd never compared this to the atomic age

  21. harper

People actually were putting radioactive isotopes in all sorts of horrible stuff

  22. krig

    oh yeah

  23. krig

    the radium girls.. scary stuff

  24. krig

The latest I saw was Dave Winer who made RSS I think posting about his relationship with his chatbot

  25. harper

Gives me hope that reason will return, as long as enough people get through this with their ability to think for themselves intact

  26. harper

    godddd

  27. krig

yeah it’s too weird now not to change. But it’s also hard to predict where the ball is going to land when it’s flying all over the place so to speak

  28. harper

    Yeah

  29. krig

just have to duck and cover and hope for the best…

    > yeah not sure.. HAproxy can do more stuff but is a pain to configure. Ooh :( I haven't check lately, but I previously adopted HAProxy because it was the most performant option at the time. Recently I thought I should give caddy a try, but never did...

    > Hi, they just migrated from Caddy to HAProxy on the frontend so there have been some connectivity issues.. hopefully back to normal by tomorrow Where can I read more about this? This is what I found, seems they used to use HAProxy in 2019 https://blog.codeberg.org/codeberg-now-supports-http2.html

I found this mention, not a lot of details yet though https://social.anoxinon.de/@codebergstatus/116540052492270537
