Kaylee, Monal is the least problematic client on iOS, on macos I think Beagle is decentish. on linux I recommend dino if you want something simple and lean. gajim is the most "power user" client and supports linux, windows and macos (the big missing feature of gajim is A/V calls, I personnally don't care much but it'd be nice if it was repaired (it used to work a long time ago…))

I think one nice potential addition to the `git: history` pane would be to have "which branch is the commit the tip of", like in lazygit (HEAD -> main), (origin/main, origin/HEAD) etc.

no idea if this is the right place to say this, but i was made aware of gram after a while of using zed with ai disabled. after seeing gram's philosophy and ai policy, i am heartened that projects like this still exist, and i am very grateful to have found gram at the end of my quest to find a no-ai code editor that works for me. thanks to the developers of gram!

It's made by the people behind ejabberd, so I expect it's not completely slop, but meh nevertheless. Also it does not support OMEMO which is, by far, the most widely used E2EE protocol these days, so not very useful for the "friends and family" usecase. For a public group such as this one, it's probably very fine.

hello everyone! im here wondering if gram has an apt repository/is packaged for .deb, or do i have to resort to using the flatpak? (oh and also does it have helix keybindings?)

I use vim mode and it’s really good, switching from neovim was no problem

helix mode should be at least decent

I couldn't figure out how to point monal at the chat server. It seems to ask for an account but I couldn't figure out who should own the account. Maybe im just missing something basic
