So, I am thinking a right click context menu for the git history view could have the following entries: - "reword": opens the commit msg dialog at center - "drop": does the git rebase -i thing automatically, if conflicts arise, back to CLI - "fixup": set the commit message in the commit message input box to "fixup: <commit-subject>" - "start branch from here": opens a text input, then does `git stash; git switch -c branch-name <source>; git stash pop`

Thoughts? I will wait for feedback on my current PRs before submitting anything related to this (I had a look for implementing the fixup thing, since I would use it often, but did not find the obvious way to modify the commit message buffer from the git panel from filehistoryview).

@nicoco I think that would be great, yeah. The ones I would really like to have but are more complex to support are `git history split` to split a commit, and to use `git rebase` to reorder commits. But both of those would be more challenging and can wait..

  4. krig

and I am getting to your PR, I promise!

  5. nicoco

oh I did not mean to be pushy sorry. you do what you want when you want

  6. krig

ah no no worries, you’re not being pushy!

  7. nicoco

good then. I'm just very enthusiathic that I manage to understand _some_ rust stuff xD

  8. tofu

Hey everyone. Just trying out gram so thought I'd pop by :)

    👋

Hope you're all well. I fear I might be the only C-sharp / dotnet dev around here but don't count that against me :)

    > good then. I'm just very enthusiathic that I manage to understand _some_ rust stuff xD did you know, with XMPP, styling the text is purely implementation, defined, so is replying :3 It's just a common feature that most XMPP clients add :3 or, Monal doesn't implement the client correctly-

    > Hope you're all well. I fear I might be the only C-sharp / dotnet dev around here but don't count that against me :) all programming languages are born equal ↺

ashleytg: yeah monal is pretty bare bones. I mostly use gajim, and cheogram, a conversations fork (android). On iOS there is also siskin-im but I don't know which is best. Gram shall be used to improve the client situation on iOS! anyone? ^^

  14. ashleytg

i'm not sure i'd make a client for XMPP, cause i do more compiler stuff!

  15. krig

I have thought about it! Don’t know anything about XMPP though..
